Alan Haig founded Haig Partners to provide trusted advice and services to buyers and sellers of higher value dealerships and dealership groups. He has been involved in the purchase or sale of more than 365 dealerships with a value of over $8.2 billion, excluding inventories.
His background includes serving as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at AutoNation, Inc. While there, he also served on their Executive Committee, wrote the original business plan for AutoNation’s new car division, and led dealership acquisitions.
Alan is the creator of The Haig Report®, [Click here for the latest report] the longest-published industry quarterly report that tracks trends in auto retail and how they impact dealership values, and co-author of NADA’s guide, Buying and Selling a Dealership. He serves on the planning committee for the AutoTeam America Buy-Sell Summit, a conference that brings together dealers and professionals involved in the purchase and sale of dealerships across the US. In addition, Alan is a frequent speaker at the annual NADA Show, the AutoTeam America Buy-Sell Summit and Dealer/CEO/CFO Forum, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Dealership Conference, the JD Power NY Auto Retail Forum, Bank of America’s Globa Auto Summits, the National Association of Dealer Counsel conferences, auto retail 20 groups, various state dealers associations and other meetings involving dealers and service providers to the auto retail industry. He is also quoted in Reuters, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, ABC, CNBC, BBC, Automotive News, WardsAuto, CBTNews and CarDealershipGuy.
Alan has an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA from Dartmouth College. Alan lives in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Plymouth, MA with his wife. They have four children and two work with the Haig Partners team.
